This McDonald’s project in Bellflower, California represents a thoughtful departure from the traditional prototype, reflecting an evolution of the brand to meet changing customer behaviors. Through close collaboration with McDonald’s, our team reimagined how the restaurant could function in an increasingly driver- and delivery-focused environment, accommodating the growth of mobile ordering and third-party delivery services.

The design introduces a dedicated mobile pickup zone with food lockers for both customers and delivery drivers, allowing for the elimination of dine-in seating and a reduced building footprint that supports operational efficiency and environmental responsibility. By engaging closely with the local community, the project demonstrates how an innovative national brand concept can deliver economic and aesthetic value while fostering stronger social engagement within its neighborhood.
